LeBron James and Chandler Parsons not at Team USA minicamp. Yet?

Cleveland Cavaliers v Dallas Mavericks

Paul George was excused from Team USA’s minicamp after Monday’s meeting.
But he’s not the only one of the 34 players expected in Las Vegas this week who missed Tuesday’s practice.
Marc Stein of ESPN:
Of the 34 players listed on USAB’s roster this week, only three were not in attendance for Tuesday’s practice:LeBron James, George and Dallas Mavericks swingman Chandler Parsons, who is recovering from recent knee surgery. But both James and Parsons are expected to be with the team Wednesday to ensure they are considered for the Summer Games in Brazil.
Remember, USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo called the minicamp mandatory to be considered for the 2016 Olympics. (However, that’s not exactly true for at least Kobe Bryant and Andre Iguodala.)
LeBron was always expected to attend just part of the camp, and Colangelo seemed cool with that. It’s about showing commitment to Team USA – not going through a full week of practice.
Parsons, who had knee surgery in the spring, surely won’t get on the court. But, again, that’s not necessary to meet Colangelo’s requirement. Parsons just needs to show up in Las Vegas. Considering his gallivanting with DeAndre Jordan, we know Parsons can physically handle appearing in Vegas.
I expect both players will show up. LeBron will keep the door open for his assured spot on the 2016 Olympic team. Parsons will keep himself from getting eliminated, though he’d still face long odds for making the 12-man roster.

NBA schedule to feature plenty LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Lakers

As usual, the TV networks will give the superstars tons of face time.
If you enjoyed the 2015 NBA Finals, you'll probably enjoy the 2015-16 NBA season as well.
The champion Warriors and runner-up Cavs will be featured on national television a league-leading 25 times apiece next season. The league announced its schedule Wednesday evening.
Following close behind will be the high-flying Clippers and star-studded Thunder, who have 24 national appearances each. The Bulls (23) and Spurs (21) are behind them while the Lakers will have just two fewer national television appearances (19) than they did wins in 2015 (21).
All of those teams, except the Spurs, will be featured in the NBA's Christmas Day lineup. The Cavs will travel to the Warriors, the Clippers and Lakers will square off in Staples Center, while the Thunder and Bulls will match up in Oklahoma City. The Knicks, who will see their national appearances drop from 16 to seven, have had their matchup against the Nets dropped from the Christmas lineup.
The Cavs and Warriors will headline the league's opening night on Oct 27. The Cavs will face the Bulls in a rematch of their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup from last spring while the Warriors will take on the Pelicans in a rematch of their first-round matchup.

Jamaal Charles: I'm the LeBron James of football

Year in, year out, Jamaal Charles is one of the most underrated running backs in the league.
He's rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his last five healthy seasons, but never leads the league in rushing, always overshadowed by Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy and DeMarco Murray.
So it's no surprise that, in an effort to earn some respect, Charles compared himself to one of the all-time greats on Saturday.
"Sometimes I feel like I'm the LeBron of football," Charles told reporters at Chiefs camp, according to Terez Paylor of The Kansas City Star, "because I can do so much."
Charles may have gone out on a limb here, but his boast is a comparison worth exploring.
While James is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, as capable on offense as he is on defense, Charles is a top dual threat out of the backfield; he ranked in the top ten in all-purpose yards in four of the last six seasons and is a fantasy workhorse.
Still, King James does undoubtedly surpass Charles in one significant category: championships.
LeBron has appeared in six NBA Finals, including the last five, and won two of them. Charles' Chiefs haven't won the Super Bowl since the Nixon administration and their last appearance in the postseason resulted in a heartbreaking comeback loss to the Colts.
Until Charles leads Kansas City to at least one playoff victory, he should probably slow his roll and tone down the LeBron comparisons -- unless he wants to compare hairlines, of course.
