LeBron James says he's 'obsessed' like UFC star Conor McGregor

(Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports)
LeBron James appears to be all in on the Conor McGregor bandwagon.
On Wednesday, the same day McGregor gave a charismatic (and threatening) press conference ahead of his fight against Rafael dos Anjos, James posted a quote attributed to McGregor to his Instagram page.
The sentiment, when it comes from McGregor, makes a little bit of sense. McGregor is a 5-foot-9 guy. He has real talent and was born with unbelievable coordination and reflexes, but he’s still 5-foot-9.
James also worked incredibly hard, harder than most people will ever know. You don’t become a professional basketball player, or the best and most consistent player of the last 25 years, without working incredibly hard.
But talent with James? There’s talent there. There’s real talent. He’s 6-foot-8 and runs like a point guard, and he’s got one-in-a-million hands, endurance, balance, coordination … there is talent there. Same with McGregor. I understand why athletes can’t think that way, because if you think you can get by on your talent you stop working, but for us sitting on the sidelines, it’s OK for us to admit it.
